Gaelic Stats exists to make Gaelic games statistics accessible to supporters, journalists, researchers and the wider Gaelic games community.
We encourage people to browse Gaelic Stats, link to our pages and refer to individual statistics in articles, broadcasts, social media, research and discussion.
Making information publicly available on GaelicStats.com does not, however, grant permission to systematically extract, reproduce or republish the Gaelic Stats database.
The Gaelic Stats database
The Gaelic Stats database has been independently compiled through substantial ongoing work collecting, checking, reconciling, organising and maintaining historical Gaelic games information from multiple sources.
The database, its organisation and its contents may be protected by applicable copyright, database and other intellectual-property rights, including rights provided under Irish and European Union law.
Individual match facts and statistics may exist independently of Gaelic Stats. This policy is intended to protect the Gaelic Stats database and the investment involved in creating and maintaining it rather than to claim ownership over individual facts about Gaelic games.
Permitted use
You may use Gaelic Stats for normal personal, editorial and research purposes.
This includes:
- browsing and searching GaelicStats.com;
- linking to Gaelic Stats pages;
- quoting or referring to individual statistics or reasonable selections of statistics;
- using individual statistics in journalism, broadcasting, research, social media, podcasts and discussion; and
- other reasonable uses that do not systematically reproduce or substitute for the Gaelic Stats database or services.
Where practical, we appreciate attribution and a link to GaelicStats.com when Gaelic Stats has been used as a source.
Systematic extraction and mass downloading
Unless expressly authorised by Gaelic Stats, you may not systematically extract, download, copy or collect substantial quantities of data from GaelicStats.com.
This includes repeated or automated extraction designed to obtain a substantial portion of the database, even where individual requests retrieve only small amounts of data.
You may not use scraping, crawling, automated queries or similar techniques to reconstruct, replicate or create a substitute for the Gaelic Stats database.
You may not circumvent rate limits, access controls, bot protections or other technical measures used to protect Gaelic Stats or manage automated access.
Republishing and competing databases

Gaelic Stats expressly reserves, to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, its rights in relation to automated extraction and text and data mining of content made available through GaelicStats.com.
Content from Gaelic Stats may not be systematically collected for the purpose of creating datasets, training or developing artificial-intelligence or machine-learning systems, grounding or retrieval systems, or providing automated statistical services without prior permission, except where such use is permitted by applicable law notwithstanding this reservation.
Gaelic Stats communicates this reservation through machine-readable notices. These notices do not prevent every form of automated access.
Commercial and machine access
Organisations wishing to use Gaelic Stats data systematically or within their own products and services should not extract information from the public website.
Licensed structured access is available through Gaelic Stats Data & API.
Potential uses include media and editorial products, broadcasting, live-scoring applications, player and match profiles, graphics, research tools, websites, applications and other commercial services.

Access to Gaelic Stats through an API is governed by a separate commercial licence and applicable API terms.
Public access to GaelicStats.com does not grant API rights or other systematic machine-access rights.
Statutory exceptions
Nothing in this policy is intended to restrict uses that cannot lawfully be restricted under applicable Irish or European Union law, including applicable statutory exceptions relating to research, education, text and data mining or other permitted activities.
Enforcement
Gaelic Stats may restrict or block access where we reasonably believe automated activity, systematic extraction, circumvention of technical measures or other activity is inconsistent with this policy or our Terms of Use.
Where commercial or systematic access is required, users should contact us about licensed access rather than extracting data from the public website.
